Mr. Alist is a brilliant conversationalist! He is wise, witty and a great listener in person….but when we are apart, he prefers texting to talking on the phone! Mr. Alist turns into Mr. Caveman when I try to talk to him on the phone! Thank goodness for the UNLIMITED texts I get with U.S. Cellular! Mr. Alist and I can text all day and trade photos. (Like photos of Balboa Island when I am boating with my nephews and niece!) This is extremely nice when we’re traveling and away from each other and we can trade sweet notes and little snapshots with one another. This was especially helpful when I was visiting my mom this past summer and fall. It was nice to get a picture to see how things were going at home, and I could keep him updated with pictures of everyone out in California. It’s the little things in life that sometimes make all the big differences. I’m a happy U.S. Cellular customer, and I’m not alone. They have the highest satisfaction rating of any national carrier. If you want to know more about why I chose them, visit their website. Or you can like them on Facebook to receive special offers on new phones.

It is Wednesday…only two more days until the weekend! Today, we are talking about smart phones, and let me tell you…my smart phone with U.S. Cellular service DEFINITELY helps me communicate better with my family and friends. First of all, no one under 18 actually uses the phone for talking any more. It is all about TEXTS, and thankfully, I am able to text my younger family members to stay in the loop on their busy lives. I can receive unlimited texts and photos on my plan, which is helpful! I have girlfriends with babies all over the country, and with their weekly photos, I can follow the progress of their little ones. Any everyone is on Facebook….but who has the time to check it? Thankfully, I can check my Facebook app on my smart phone while I am waiting in line at the DMV, or riding the ski lift up the mountain in Colorado! All of these tools help me stay connected to my friends and family, and I could not do it without my smart phone.

At our house, we believe nothing is more important than our health. A small gesture can lead to big rewards in our health. This is why the “Small Wins, Big Rewards” sweepstakes by Glam Network and Quaker Oatmeal is so exciting! There are two “musts” in my morning routine. The first is a healthy breakfast. I love grabbing a Quaker Oatmeal in Peaches and Cream, my all-time favorite flavor. I will enjoy it with some sparkling water and an apple or some yogurt. It is a quick way to make breakfast amazing. The second “morning must” is a walk around the neighborhood.

We have been blessed with good weather this winter. I love hearing the birds chirping, and I love the smell of fresh air. With a good breakfast and some exercise, I can tackle anything that comes my way. Please join me for a Twitter Quaker Oatmeal discussion #QuakerRewards on Thursday, February 9 at 4PM PST to talk about:
“Starting the day off right: What small wins can you accomplish as part of your morning routine to help start your day right?”

Just by participating in a discussion, participants will automatically be entered into the “Small Wins, Big Rewards” Sweepstakes! At the end each discussion, one of the participants will be chosen at random to receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card, to purchase anything from your favorite Quaker Oatmeal products to exercise clothing to help you get off to a perfect start. There will be two other discussions that we will tell you more about later this month—and all participants will also be entered to win the Grand Prize: a $1000 Amazon Gift Card! So the more discussions you participate in, the better chance you have of winning the grand prize! The benefits of a warm, filling bowl of oatmeal can keep you going all morning long. Energy. Fiber. Heart Health. Quaker Oatmeal. A super grain breakfast.
