Today is the last day of August! Everyone is getting ready for Back-to-School time, which makes me think about the kids who do not have the supplies they need when they show up to their first day of school. The Kids In Need Foundation is a not-for-profit with a mission to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. The Foundation does this through 24 resource centers across the country, where teachers can “shop” for free supplies. The Foundation also supports a teacher grant program; all K-12 educators nationwide are eligible. Finally, the Foundation supports a school box program to help get supplies to students in rural areas. The Kids In Need Foundation 2010 gala and business luncheon is on September 29 at The Depot in Minneapolis. The gala reception is sponsored by Target.
