Hello! Today is the last day of August! Everyone is getting ready for Back-to-School time, which makes me think about the kids who do not have the supplies they need when they show up to their first day of school. The Kids In Need Foundation is a not-for-profit with a mission to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. The Foundation does this through 24 resource centers across the country, where teachers can “shop” for free supplies. The Foundation also supports a teacher grant program; all K-12 educators nationwide are eligible. Finally, the Foundation supports a school box program to help get supplies to students in rural areas. The Kids In Need Foundation 2010 gala and business luncheon is on September 29 at The Depot in Minneapolis. The gala reception is sponsored by Target. The “Father of Modern Baby”, David Netto, is teamed with Maclaren Nursery. And while doing our research, we learned a lot about the company’s new offerings….including cribs! We love Netto’s style. He says, “I think you should do what is appropriate, but never cut back on the fantasy.” Maclaren started working with David n in 2009, and they promise many new items. Did you guys watch the season finale of Jersey Couture last night? I love that show! It is all about the Scali family’s dress shop, Diane & Co. Little Francesca is such a doll! Love her long hair! Last night, they celebrated her first birthday party at the store, and she got baby’s first Louis Vuitton pocketbook from her uncle. Love it!
