Vintage baby toys are some of my favorite things in the world, and this is why I adore this birthday party concept so much! Here are some additional photos from Hostess Blog. The party was planned by Bella Grace Party Designs. We like the jacks used for napkin rings, the sock monkeys, the wooden blocks, and even the milk shooters on the dessert station! Brava!

Angelina Jolie Loves DwellStudio Blocks

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and their children were in Venice in March, and Angie went on a shopping spree to several local baby stores. Among her purchases were these stylish DwellStudio Soft Blocks! We actually received a set from AllModern, and we love them. They would make a great baby shower gift, and we like the muted colors. I am sure Knox and Vivienne love them, too!

Playmobil was always fascinating to me as a child. All of the fabulous details, and fun moveable parts. Playmobil sent us the Wild Life Waterhole, $44.99, and our little testers love it! There is even a platform for the observers to watch the animals. The set is suitable for kids ages three and up. The best part is this set will provide hours of entertainment. Our newborn tester LOVED the new InGenuity Automatic Bouncer by Bright Starts! And of course, the mom adored the Bella Vista soft colors! This bouncer is the only one of its kind that actually bounces, rather than simply vibrating. (Just like being inside of mom!) The toy bar will be great when baby gets a little bit older. We have always loved the Corolle dolls! They are classic toys that I remember playing with as a child. Now, the company has a new line for baby! We received the Bapipouce Christening doll, and we just love it. It is lovely, soft, and washing machine safe! This is a perfect baby shower gift for a mom with a little girl on the way. It would also be a cute Christening gift! The quality of this doll is superior, and we know it will we a well-loved plaything at our house!

ASTRA’s 2009 Best Toys for Kids List

We continue our quest for the best holiday gifts! We want to share with you an item from the American Specialty Toy Association (ASTRA) 2009 Best Toys for Kids List: the Twinkle Tiaras by Orb Factory. Your little princess can create her own crown masterpiece by using the mosaic stickers to follow one of the designs included in the box. Or, if she is a budding designer, she may want to debut her own style!

ASTRA’s goal is to get back to the basics. Toys that you find at independent retailers are sometimes the most unique finds on the market! For parents, shopping at independent, neighborhood stores is a great reason to pass by the crowds of shoppers at the usual big box stores, and try a more relaxed way of shopping. Please keep in mind, the smaller, independent stores do not always have many of the big names you will find at big-box retailers. So it is always smart to do a little homework before you go shopping!

Today, we start our series on our favorite holiday gifts! Our little testers absolutely love this LEGO DUPLO Fire Station 5601, $29.99. This set includes a fire station, fire truck, fire helicopter, three firefighter figures and a dog. The really fun part is….the siren and light of the fire truck really works! The set is designed for little ones ages 2-5. We love that DUPLO LEGOS are easier for little hands to work with. Mom or Dad may want to work with their little ones to initially assemble this kit. But ones the kids see how it fits together, they will love to build it again and again.
