We stumbled upon this fantastic site for dessert inspiration called Jenny’s Cookies. Jenny recently did the dessert bar for Tori Spelling’s son, Liam. He had a Ghostbuster theme. But I am loving these sweet cookies…just perfect for a baby shower.

Springtime showers are right around the corner! And you all know I love a great party favor! I am always on the lookout for companies who do it best. I am a big fan of the options available through Bellaterra. We used the red pedestal box with lime green ribbon for my friend Tani’s baby shower in December. We filled the boxes with Starbursts, one of Tani’s favorite candies. They looked so pretty on the tables! This is what Bellaterra has to say about the boxes:

Hello! Today, I am excited to tell you all about the expert baker who created Laura’s diaper cake! Natalie of The Diaper Cake Baker is a true artist. She created a blue and brown confection to coordinate with little Jack’s nursery. It was a big hit. You can see it in the bottom photo, below! Natalie also creates diaper wreaths and sock and washcloth lollipop bouquets. You can see all of her creations on her Facebook page. How CUTE are her creative concepts? The honey pot? And the firefly? Just precious! These would all make lovely baby shower gifts!

Lately I have been getting a lot of e-mails, asking me for tips on throwing baby showers. One of the questions asked most frequently is, “Where do you buy your favors?” I happen to love Sophie’s Favors, so I am thrilled to tell you all about them. I love these 3.5″X3.5″X3″ boxes with double-faced satin ribbon. They look so luxe! I used them for my friend Tani’s baby shower. My friend Dianne baked full-size cupcakes to slip inside. I am sure they were enjoyed later that evening by all of the guests! I will share more baby shower favor ideas tomorrow.

Happy Monday, AListBaby readers! Today, I have a sneak peak at Tani’s baby shower. I will have more photos of the shower at Nicollet Island Inn after the holidays. But we were just so thrilled by our diaper cake from Stinky Cakes that I have to share with you now! Stinky Cakes made a custom cake for the family’s new little baby girl. The colors were red and lime green, to match the shower theme and the baby’s nursery! This is Tani’s second baby, so she already has items like a crib and bedding. But you can ALWAYS use diapers! This adorable cake was one of the centerpieces of the shower. One of the sweetest features was a bib that said, “The Cherry On Top of the Family”. Stinky Cakes will make a custom diaper cake for your baby shower, a special gift for a co-worker, or a complement to flowers as a hospital gift. More to come on Tani’s shower in January!

By now, all of my fabulous readers know I am head-over-heels in love with paper products. And because I have seen so many different types of invitations, place cards and menus, Timeless Paper really stands out with creative and luxe products! I love featuring Kara’s Parties….and this one features one of my favorite childhood color schemes: pink and purple. We love the tea set, and the little purses each girl received as a favor when they left this Princess Party. Great job!

Yellow and Grey! Such a divine color scheme for a baby shower. We found this splendid shower on the blog Head of The Table! I love the alphabet sign behind the drink table, and I also adore the glasses with the little slices of lime. It’s the details that really make a party special. I also spot the Waterford Lismore vase….two of my good friends own that! (Maybe I should get one, too?) Enjoy the photos, and you can click on them to make them larger.

We have been hearing more and more talk about the “baby sprinkle”, a party for expectant moms who already have a little one or two at home. What a great idea! Every baby is a reason to celebrate. The main difference is the sprinkle is a little less gift-intensive. Party goers may bring the mom a little something, but it is more of a celebration of the new life. The Party Dress has some great shower ideas, that would work great for a sprinkle.
