2011Nursery Art at Art.com

Happy Monday! I recently contacted Art.com for a piece of framed art for an Art Deco nursery that we are designing. We selected the Triumph Tulip framed art print, by Steven Myers. I am very impressed with the selection on Art.com. I like how you can narrow selections by type of art, size, cost, colors, etc. Also, while this piece is sold already framed, you can choose to have Art.com custom frame almost any piece of art for you, for much less than you would pay at a neighborhood framing shop. The cost for this piece is $74.99, but we want to thank Art.com for their generous gift. We think nursery walls can be sophisticated, if that is your style, just like every other room in the house. We cannot wait to share photos of the nursery when it is complete. Have a great day, everyone!

It is Tuesday! What do you guys have planned for the rest of the week? Today, we want to feature a few sophisticated baby boy nurseries. Sometimes, planes, trains and automobiles are not what my clients are looking for. Take a look at these beauties, spotted on Elle.com. I am working with a seamstress that can do anything. She is seriously amazing. A great eye for combining colors into a beautiful scheme. She has truly reinforced that window coverings and bedding can make a world of difference. Are any of our readers taking a more sophisticated route for their baby boy or toddler room?

I spend a lot of time in my office chair, and I have been loving my Herman Miller chair. (Found here at CSN stores for $629). It got me thinking about seats for toddlers and preschoolers. They need a good seat, too. The chairs below, also from CSN stores, look sturdy and comfortable. And a good seat may encourage your little one to spend some quality time with a good book!

Sherry and John Petersik of Young House Love have the cutest posts on Baby Center, and they recently went Nursery Crashing. We are ga-ga over this bright and sunny room, perfect for a baby boy or girl! And I love the “Always and Forever” sign. Reminds me of lyrics to a song popular the summer before my freshman year of college. The reading nook is created using curtain rods! Learn all about it here.

We had a FABULOUS trip to Colorado over the new year. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at a Copper Mountain resort restaurant, enjoyed fireworks over the mountains, skied until my heart was content, and sipped cocktails slopeside. Someday, we will buy a vacation home in the mountains. I spotted this darling nursery on OhDeeDoh, and I love it!

Hello! Happy Sunday everyone! It has been a great weekend. I co-hosted a baby shower on Saturday, grabbed dinner and a movie with my husband, and took a lovely walk around the Fort Worth botanical gardens this afternoon. I am excited to tell you about this fabulous baby bedding company: Carousel Designs. Owned by two West Point graduates, every item sold on their site is made in the U.S.A. The website BabyBedding.com offers the custom Nursery Designer option, a unique, interactive took that allows expectant parents to design and visualize their baby’s nursery from the comfort of your own home. No more long hours at the fabric store or overpriced specialty store! This is the only website that allows you to design your own custom baby bedding and view your virtual nursery online. Best of all, you have TONS of fabric choices, and the program helps you pick complimentary fabrics. So check out the site, and design away! I received a gorgeous solid white crib blanket. I appreciate the high quality and the beautiful design. It would be gorgeous on its own, or monogrammed with baby’s initials. I could play on this site for hours. The red poppy collection is fun! But there are hundreds of options when you mix and match the fabrics to find the perfect set for you. Check them out on Facebook, too!
