Hello dolls! We are seeing some fun new nursery trends pop up this winter–and among the biggest is OWLS! We are loving this mod owl nursery spotted at Project Nursery. Skip Hop has the most adorable owl of all, we think. Check out this owl tableware from their zoo tableware collection. This stuff is sturdy and affordable (only $4 for a plate), the colors are bright…and they are just plain fun! Their owl bookends bring some major personality to your tot’s bookshelf! They add a splash of whimsy for only $35. (I imagine some adults will be adding these to their libraries, as well!) Skip Hop is becoming a go-to resource for modern moms. We know Kourtney Kardashian is a big fan of their items for her son, Mason.

The weather may be a little chilly, but there are plenty of FUN activities to do with your little ones, outlined in the book “Toad Cottages & Shooting Stars: Grandma’s Bag of Tricks” by Sharon Lovejoy. This activity-packed book includes projects like creating a “Kitchen Garbage Garden” to grow citrus trees and peanuts. You can even learn how to make an earth and child-friendly pizza box solar oven, and cook Sharon’s recipes specifically designed for the solar oven. These are the kinds of fun activities that families did before the days of computers, Wii games and television! Sharon Lovejoy is a grandmother of four, but this book is filled with ideas for anyone who wants to connect with the children in their lives. Workman Publishing, $14.95. Thanks to Workman for sending us this fun book to review!
