This week we are starting a new series that pairs fun new children’s products with celebrity kids! We think Honor Warren would love these Best Pals dolls! Her mom Jessica would appreciate these 1950′s classics that have been recreated with all of the timeless details of the 50′s. We received Kathy, and she is cute as can be! All of the Best Pals rag dolls feature vintage fabrics, embroidered facial features, and hair that can be styled. So huggable and fun! And we also like these Mini Best Pals dolls that are tiny replicas of the original Kathy and Janet Dolls. They stand 5″ tall, and come with their very own carrying case.

How fun are these Winnie the Pooh and Friends products? We received the most charming package in the mail from Disney Consumer Products, all to celebrate the new Winnie the Pooh film released this summer. My favorite is the Rumbly Tummy Pooh by Fischer Price. Little ones can nurture Pooh when his empty tummy rumbles and makes noises by placing the “hunny” pot to his mouth and helping him eat. You can click on this photo to make it larger, and see all of these cute products from Disney!

We had a great time yesterday on a Duffy Boat, from Duffy Boats of Newport Beach! I took my sister and three of her children, and we spent two hours driving the boat through the Newport Harbor. Duffy Boats are electric, and we strolled along the water at about 5 mph. We especially enjoyed viewing the yachts and the view of Balboa Island from the water! The boat was comfortable, and the ride was relaxing! The boats fit 10-12 people comfortably. Each boat has a full canopy top, full window enclosures and a great sounding CD player with iPod hookup. It was a great way to spend the afternoon, and we think this would make a great “special event” activity for a birthday, or even a small baby shower! Check out their Facebook page, too!

The Spa at Pelican Hill is a relaxing a luxurious experience! I fell in love with the Roman-soaking pool beneath a barrel-vaulted ceiling! And I enjoyed some time in the sauna and steam room after my massage.
Visits to The Spa are carefully crafted based on your desired intention or focus: Replenish (restore balance, detoxify, rejuvenate); Invigorate (strengthening, energizing, immune boosting); or Relax (de-stressing, unwinding, centering).
For babymooning mommies, The Spa offers the Deserving Mother’s Massage, for expectant moms. This is a soothing massage for pregnancy during any trimester, or postpartum. It improves circulation, and provides a gentle soothing touch for expectant and new mothers. I certainly appreciated the calming music, the fantastic smelling Amber Gold scent used during my massage, and a masseuse who was able to customize my experience to sooth muscles in dire need of soothing!
You can enjoy The Spa with the expectant Dad, too! New amenities including a barber’s chair and a specific menu of man-friendly treats make the spa experience pleasurable for both men and women!
From accommodations to dining to The Spa, AListBaby believes the Pelican Hill is a GREAT option for babymooning couples, or anyone in search of a private resort with extraordinary service. Check out their website at http://www.pelicanhill.com to learn more about the resort, and as always, shoot us an e-mail if we can answer any questions for you, at alistbabyblog(at)yahoo(dot)com.
Please note: Pelican Hill provided AListBaby with one night of accommodations, dining and a spa treatment.

2011Dining at Pelican Hill Resort

During our stay at Pelican Hill Resort, Mr. Alist and I enjoyed dinner at their signature restaurant, Andrea, and also breakfast at the Coliseum Pool & Grill. Both meals were exceptional! We enjoy a good meal, but we treasure excellent service. And when we get both, it makes for an unforgettable experience.
The restaurant Andrea brings the authentic flavors of Italy with regional dishes, along with freshly made pasta. Our server, Maurizio, created a unique tasting menu for us. We were educated on the dishes every step of the way, and assured that the culinary team is dedicated to using the finest ingredients for their Tuscan-influenced menu. We enjoyed an intimate half-moon booth in the elegantly comfortable dining room, decorated in soft neutral colors.
Our first dish was the Porcini Mushroom Risotto, which was prepared tableside by stirring the risotto in an Italian wheel of Parmesan cheese. I do not think I will ever forget how good this dish tasted. This Risotto ai Funghi Porcini melted in my mouth.
Next, we enjoyed two pasta dishes. Just like in Italy, Andrea makes fresh pastas in their temperature-controlled Pasta Room. The Garganelli Bolognese Sauce was a delicious tomato meat-based sauce, but it tasted better than any pasta I have eaten outside of Italy! The Spinach and Buffalo Ricotta Ravioli with Butter Sage Sauce was equally delightful.
The pastas were a great transition to our main courses, Wild Sea Bass with Roasted Vegetables, Rosemary and Giardiniera Sauce for Mr. AList and Roasted Colorado Lamb Rack Swiss Chard, Caramelized Cipollini, Thyme Jus for me! Our side dishes were wilted baby spinach and wild mushrooms. We can certainly say it was one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed together!
The next morning, we enjoyed a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean, the golf courses and the sparkling swimming pool at the Coliseum Pool & Grill. This casual restaurant served all of the breakfast favorites. I enjoyed fluffy scrambled eggs, and a pastry basket with a superb cream cheese Danish—one of my favorite things! This restaurant is a great place for breakfast, or a quick lunch before hitting the beach, or making a splash in the pool. It would also be a good option for a casual dinner with the family. You cannot beat the great service and the sensational view. You can also rent a cabana for special events. We think a cabana would be a great spot for an intimate baby shower!
Tomorrow, I will tell you all about my experience at The Spa at Pelican Hill! For more information on Pelican Hill, you can log onto their website at http://www.pelicanhill.com.

Last month, I had the most fabulous trip to San Francisco with my AListMom. We stayed at the St. Francis Hotel, toured Alcatraz, strolled along Fisherman’s Wharf, rode the cable car…and of course, scouted luxe baby goods! We also got to meet Sherene’s brand new baby boy, Jackson! He is perfection! We just love this little guy so much. (Check out those adorable Trumpette baby socks!) Sherene is the founder of Style by Sherene, so we know her little one is going to be the best dressed tot in San Francisco! You can follow all of Sherene’s fashion tips on Twitter!
