A great way to begin any stay at a resort is to go to the spa and get a massage. The Vail Cascade has a wonderful spa at the resort, the Aria Spa and Fitness Club. Shortly after check-in, I headed over to get a pre-natal massage and get myself in the right mindset. The facility itself is 78,000 square feet and in addition to a spa, features a huge fitness club with 3 indoor tennis courts, 3 outdoor tennis courts, squash and racquetball courts. The club also offers lessons and clinics in tennis and squash along with a fully equipped pro shop. In a few years, I’ll drop off Baby Alist at the tennis courts to get a lesson and I’ll enjoy a nice spa day! You definitely want to take advantage of one of Tennis Magazine’s Top 50 Tennis Resorts.
The fitness center has all the exercise equipment you could imagine. Cardio, free weights, stair climbers, dumbbells, a climbing wall are all available. The center also offers private hot tub rooms, a steam room, an outdoor pool, and an indoor track. For the serious athlete, this is the place to get in shape for ski season!
Back to the spa, the lounge and entry way are very cozy and extremely comfortable. Just the thing to get one in the right frame of mind to relax. After I arrived, I put on a very comfortable robe and relaxed a bit before the treatment.
There are a variety of treatments available. I, of course, got the pre-natal massage. In addition to that, there are a variety of massages, facials, body treatments along with nails and waxings. The masseuse did a very good job of putting me at ease and communicating with me about the pre-natal massage. I always felt like the pressure was just right. At the end of the massage, I was in a great frame of mind for the rest of our stay at the Vail Cascade!
