Across the blogosphere, fellow bloggers are letting their readers in on seven “little known” facts about their blog’s writers. Here are some tidbits you may not know about me (Mary):
1. I spent a semester studying abroad in Rome, Italy, at The American University of Rome. We met at places like the Pantheon and Colosseum for class. I think it’s funny I thought it was no big deal….which brings me to my next item:
2. I spent nearly two years interning in Senator Edward Kennedy’s press office in Washington, DC. JFK Jr. called once. I watched the Senator in action. I walked his dog, Blarney. I saw Eunice speak at a committee meeting. And I saw firsthand how hard he worked for our country.
3. I talk to my Dad everyday, and I truly value his advice.
4. I anchored the news for a few years for KXMB in Bismarck, ND and WHBF in Rock Island, IL. I want to go back to Bismarck someday and watch my former videographer Juan play softball, and meet his wife and little girl. As for the Quad Cities….if I had one opportunity to go back in time and tell myself something, it would be there. And I would say, “Pack your bags, and move along girl.”
5. I truly love Diet Coke; but only when it is freshly opened. I leave a lot of half-full cans around the house. I’m OK with that.
6. One of my favorite things in the world is to see a best friend with her newborn baby. Those little guys bring out the best in my friends—a new part of her heart opens up.
7. Our wedding day was a lifelong dream come true. Not only do I have the perfect husband for me; we had the most incredible day of our lives. I have a great feeling in my heart that we made it all happen, and it is all better than we could ever imagine.
