Holiday Gifts: Green and Fabulous

This holiday season, some of our favorite gifts support a mission of creating a sustainable environment for future generations.

Fruits and Passion Bebe body care line for babies contains ECOCERT Certified natural ingredients, and is enriched with organic extracts known for their softening and soothing properties. The  organic oil moisturizes and helps recreate the skin’s protective layer. The colloidal oats are well known to help dry and irritated skin as well as maintain a long-term protective layer reinforcing the “barrier” effect. The products smell great, and are available online, or in more than 2,000 specialty stores worldwide.

Fabkins are soft and durable everyday cloth napkins for kids, available in an array of bright colors and playful designs. Sized for kids’ laps and lunchboxes, Fabkins come in themed packs of five that reflect kids’ interests. Fabkins make school lunches and meals at home more fun, and inspire children to help save the environment! Available online for about $23 per set.

We also adore Tom’s of Maine Natural Care Sensitive Skin, Aluminum-Free deodorant. What a great stocking stuffer, and we love how the chamomile soothes sensitive skin.

Nursery Design: Looking Up

Domino Magazine has a fun idea for nursery décor. Pretty smart, considering baby is often looking “up”! A pattern with no up or down is perfect for a ceiling, and a wallpapered ceiling gives a small room like a nursery a special jewel-box feel. “Coronata Star” about $160/roll Osbourne & Little (212) 751-3333

Christina Aguilera says her son Max, 11 months, is an inspiration for new music she is working on. Last winter, People Magazine took a look inside Max’s nursery, where Aguilera’s favorite décor item is an 11 ft.-tall moon from her Back to Basic tour. (Bringing the moon to the nursery was husband Jordan Bratman’s idea.) A Paddington Bear is also a staple in Max’s room at the family’s Mediterranean-style Los Angeles mansion.

These arrived in the mail last night. I mean, seriously. How cute are these Robeez? All she needs is a pair of Apple Bottom Jeans with these boots with the fur. She’ll have the whole playground looking at her. ;) Sure, I live in Dallas, and the temperature is still hovering in the seventies. But I see a little girl wearing these to the mall, with a skirt and a fall coat. They are also perfect for bouncing around the ski villages in Summit County, Colorado this winter! This style is $38.95, and is washable with non-slip suede soles. It is also available in cream, brown and navy.

Domino Magazine: The Style Gene

Domino Magazine featured some glamorous nurseries this month. This jewel-box space was created by Michelle Rubel, an events manager for the magazine. The theme for her son’s room is uptown prepster, and the nursery was actually converted from a walk-in closet! A Murphy bed-style changing table was painted to match the walls, so it essentially disappears when it is not in use. This is a great example of dramatic style in a small space.

Crib, Sparrow, $690

Paint, Martha Stewart Blue Agave

Rug, Gracious Home, $120
